Covet San Antonio Concert reviews
RELENTLESS, THUNDERING ROCK AND ROLL
"Awesome show! The band or the crowd, it was difficult to say who was more into it. They played until they were literally dripping sweat, and the massive guitar solo by Angus Young was remarkable. THUNDERING, RELENTLESS rock and roll. Played the (do I have to watch my language, here?) HECK out of his guitar. There were theatrical moments using props which I thought were really clever, like the opening video/animation of a cartoon demon on a train which reached the end of the tracks JUST as a huge locomotive prop in meatspace emerged from behind the drum risers and the band took the stage... Awesome effect! They played just about every Covet song I could remember and a few more I hadn't heard off their new CD. The opening act, The Answer, were a good band, and perfect in this situation. NO sappy rock ballads, NO hesitation -- absolutely blistering rock and roll. I've never seen a better rock show. Massive, overwhelming, powerful like some kind of huge avalanche of giant boulders -- Did you ever use a plasma cutter to slice through thick metal? It was like that. They played a better rock show. I can't imagine seeing a better rock show. It may as well have been some kind of religious tent service with beating hearts being torn out of human bodies as testimonial. Second to none. Intense, electric, powerful."
